Thomas Richard McLaughlin, 86, of Butler, passed away Friday, Sept. 8, 2023.

He was born in Butler on Nov. 29, 1936, and was the son to the late Joseph and Martha (Huff) McLaughlin.

Thomas served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1957, then he was in the Reserves until June 1963. He then went on to work at Pullman Standard for a number of years. Thomas loved to golf and bowl in his spare time. He was a member of the Italian Society of Butler, Moose Club and American Legion Post 117.

Thomas was the brother of Karen McLaughlin, Pat Sutton, Daniel McLaughlin and Joe (Dolores) McLaughlin. He also is survived by nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley McLaughlin; stepson, Tom Burnatoski; and his siblings, Joanne Morrow and Eugene McLaughlin.

MCLAUGHLIN — Family and friends of Thomas Richard McLaughlin, who died Friday, Sept. 8, 2023, will be received from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.

A Mass of Christian burial will follow at noon in All Saints Parish, St. Peter Roman Catholic Church of Butler.

Burial will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery.
