Buffalo Township man accused of firing gun at woman, police said
A Buffalo Township man has been accused of firing a gun at a woman at his home Sunday, Aug. 27.
Andrew J. Vento, 31, was charged by Buffalo Township police with felonies aggravated assault, misdemeanors reckless endangerment and terroristic threats after a woman reported Vento shooting at her as she left his home.
When the woman arrived at the home Sunday, she said she found Vento intoxicated and passed out, documents show. Vento later left the residence, according to the documents.
The woman told police she asked a friend of Vento’s to come over and help secure the situation. When the friend arrived, he took two guns from the home and placed them in his vehicle, police said.
Vento returned around 4 p.m., police said, and pointed a gun at the woman, telling her to “get the (redacted) off my property.”
Documents claim Vento fired at the woman as she walked down the driveway. The woman told police she felt gravel hit the back of her legs following the shot.
Police said Vento’s friend pushed Vento’s arm as he fired the gun and eventually disarmed him. Vento then left the scene and was not there when officers arrived, according to documents.
Police said during their investigation, a 9 mm casing was found in the area where witnesses reported the shot was fired. Two other guns that also were in Vento’s home accounted for.
Vento’s preliminary hearing has not yet been scheduled.
