Police reports

The following items have been collected from various police departments and district courts:

Butler City

Aug. 10 — Ian D. Goodman, 21, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor DUI after police stopped him on North McKean Street. Police said field sobriety test showed he was impaired, and a later blood test showed traces of THC in his system.

Butler County Detectives

Aug. 7 — Jason P. Geibel, 54, of Slippery Rock, was charged with two counts of felony contraband. Police said he was found with Xanax and gabapentin when being processed at Butler County Prison.

Butler Twp

Aug. 10 — Dawn M. Byers, 36, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor theft. Police said she took $1,000 from a safe at her place of employment.

Aug. 8 — Jonathan T. Cole, 29, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanors terroristic threats, simple assault and summary harassment. Police said he threatened to shoot someone.

Aug. 8 — Wade L. Shaw, 48, of Butler, was charged with two counts of misdemeanor drug possession. Police said he was found with two marijuana cigarettes.

Cranberry Twp

Aug. 17 — Ryan J. Wolfred, 37, of Cranberry Township, was charged with two counts of misdemeanor drug possession. Police said he was growing several marijuana plants.

Aug. 8 — Cameron S. Smith, 24, of Pittsburgh, was charged with misdemeanor theft in two separate cases. Police said he left Walmart with $663 and $380 worth of merchandise without paying for it on those occasions.

Middlesex Twp

Aug. 7 — Janet M. Groff, 62, of Tarentum, was charged with misdemeanor bad checks. Police said she wrote a check with insufficient funds.

Slippery Rock borough

Aug. 8 — James M. Applegarth, 40, of Mercer, was charged with misdemeanors DUI and resisting arrest after police stopped him on Centreville Pike. Police said he showed signs of impairment.

Aug. 8 — William W. Hulings, 37, of Slippery Rock, was charged with two counts of misdemeanor DUI after police said he crashed his vehicle on New Castle Street. Police said field sobriety test showed he was impaired, and a later blood test showed his blood alcohol content at 0.363%. In Pennsylvania, the legal limit is 0.08%.

Aug. 8 — Justin M. Schaeffer, 20, of Slippery Rock, was charged with misdemeanor theft. Police said he left Sheetz with $223 worth of merchandise over several occasions.

State police, Butler

Aug. 8 — Richard A. Dematteis, 59, of Boyers, was charged with three counts misdemeanor drug possession. Police said 1.87 grams of methamphetamine and 2.78 grams of cocaine were found in his vehicle.

Aug. 8 — Kelsey B. Carter, 30, of Prospect, was charged with two counts of misdemeanor use and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said he was found with a stamp bag of suspected heroin and a zolpidem pill.
