Geraldine Mae “Gerry” Grossman, of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Center Township, Butler County, passed away at her summer residence in Center Township on Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Gerry was born on June 23, 1951, to Clifford Raymond Stevens and Beatrice Mae Sullivan Stevens in New Jersey. She married Thomas Dwight Grossman on July 12, 1994.

Gerry was always an outdoors person. Having grown up near the Gulf of Mexico, she enjoyed being out on the water and fishing with her husband, Tom. Gerry had a green thumb. She enjoyed spending time in her garden, as well as canning fruits and vegetables in her spare time. In addition, she was a talented crocheter. Above all else, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas, at home; daughter, Patricia Palmer; son, Duffy Palmer; grandchildren, Austin, Elijah, Spencer and Regina Palmer, all of Port Charlotte, Fla.; sister, Patricia A. (Greg) Highfield of Venice, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Linda Stevens of Venice, Fla., Lucinda (Don) Wilson of Butler and Karen (Joe) Burgoon of Mt. Gilead, N.C.; and brother-in-law, Timothy (Nancy) Grossman of Summerville, N.C.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her granddaughters, Taylor and Deanna; and a brother, Raymond Stevens.

GROSSMAN — A celebration of life for Geraldine Mae “Gerry” Grossman, who died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2023, will be held at a later time and place and will be announced in the Butler Eagle.
