Fruth

Dolores H. Fruth, 101, of Zelienople, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023, while under the care of Passavant Retirement Community.

Born May 3, 1922, in Irwin, she was the daughter of the late Paul A. and Mildred E. Tornblom Hellmann.

Dolores was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Rochester and Seaman Memorial Chapel in Zelienople. She graduated from Norwin High School in 1940. She was employed by Bell Telephone as a supervisor and then P.M.H. as an administrative assistant.

She enjoyed her church involvement that included being a member of the District of Lutheran Church Women and Poet Laureate of Grace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading and writing poetry. She was the producer and author of several poems, songs and plays. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Karin (John “Jack” Bienemann) McQuigg and James William Fruth; her grandchildren, Edward Paul McQuigg, Jacob William Fruth and Jameson Aaron Fruth; her great-granddaughter, Susan Elizabeth Fruth; and her sister, Ruth Porter.

In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Edward Fruth, who passed away on Jan. 4, 2004; and her sister, Vera Maxwell.

FRUTH — Per her wishes, no viewing will take place for Dolores H. Fruth, who died Monday, July 31, 2023, and a private memorial service will be held at a time to be determined.

Memorial donations can be made in Dolores’ honor to the Lutheran SeniorLife for Passavant Retirement Community, 105 Burgess Drive, Zelienople, PA 16063.
