Anne Miseyka

Miseyka

Anne Krisiak Miseyka, 95, of Butler, died Aug. 3, 2023, at Butler Hospital.

She was born on July 31, 1928, to Pauline Dzurian and Valentine (Walter) Krisiak of Tarentum, Pa. She had 10 siblings. On May 1, 1948, she married Frank Richard Miseyka, to whom she was married 40 years.

Anne was a first-generation American and proud of her Slovak heritage. She was the perfect partner to her husband, a WWII veteran and Purple Heart recipient, as to both his independence and his needs as a disabled veteran. Anne and Frank raised two daughters and four sons. She was a caregiver throughout her life. She volunteered in the lunch room at St. Paul’s School/Butler Catholic for over 40 years.

She was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Paul’s Church and Christian Mothers. She was a member of the American Legion and VFW Women’s Auxiliary. Anne was known for her kindness, compassion and generosity of spirit. She was an excellent cook and an even better baker, and her delightful sense of humor sparkled through even to the end.

Anne is survived by a daughter, Patricia Garner Franklin (Bill); son, Robert (Jill); son, Raymond; daughter, Joanne Setnar (Geoff Gitlin); son, Frank; nine grandchildren, Michael Garner (Lindsay), David Garner, Melissa Lewis (Sam), Tamara Solomon (Scott), Joseph Miseyka, Samuel Miseyka, Matthew Setnar (Samantha), Anna Shuty (Josh), and Mark Setnar; and 10 great-grandchildren, Willis, Cameron and Townes Garner, Frasier Lewis, Oliver Solomon, Maverick, Anthony and Jackson Setnar, and Sarah and Thomas Shuty. She also is survived by her sister, Marge Hansotte; sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Krisiak; daughter-in-law, Kim Miseyka; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Anne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank; her son, Richard; son-in-law, Larry Garner; and siblings, Martha Krofchick, Eleanor Kiselick, Mary George, Frank Kresiak, Pauline Spryn, John Krisiak, Agnes Horzempa, Joseph Krisiak and Walter Krisiak.

Anne’s greatest joy was her family. She is now with the God she so faithfully loved.

The family is deeply grateful to the caring staff of Schwalm Hall at Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot, who have been her “family.”
