Seneca Valley grad wins scholarship
Peter S. Ko, a 2023 Seneca Valley graduate and co-valedictorian, won a $2,500 National Merit Scholarship.
The National Merit Scholarship winners were submitted by their high schools, then finalists were evaluated for academic record, including difficulty level of subjects studied and grades earned; contributions and leadership in high school and community activities; an essay written by the finalist; and the recommendation written by a high school official.
Ko is the son of Soo and Jonathan Ko, of Cranberry Township. At Seneca Valley, he was the co-president of the Science Honor Society and medical careers club, elected senator of student council, and a member of the varsity tennis team, music program and the National Honor Society.
He plans to attend Brown University and major in biology on a pre-med track.
