Wittey

Hilda Mae Wittey, 82, of Harmony, passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at UPMC Passavant-McCandless surrounded by family. She was born on Jan. 17, 1941.

Hilda Mae was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She is survived by her husband, William M. Wittey; and their children, Debra (Michael) Rajchel, Warren “Skip” (Susan) Wittey and Judi (Bill) Daugherty. Hilda was a beloved “Nanny” to Stephanie, Will, Angela, Kimberly and Chrystian.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Daisy Smith; and her siblings, Hellen, Herman Jr., Harold and Hansford. She was the last member of her family, who were direct descendants of Capt. John Smith.

Hilda Mae was a vibrant, fun-loving person who had a passion for bowling, bingo, cooking and her cat, Fluffy.

A private celebration of life will be held for close family and friends to honor Hilda Mae's memory.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Butler County Humane Society.
