Belva Kummer
Belva J. Kummer, 75, of Butler, passed away Monday, July 17, 2023, at the Grove at New Wilmington after an illness.
Born on Feb. 21, 1948, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late George Kummer and late Carrie M. (Simpson) Kummer.
Belva worked for many years at Allegheny Valley Schools and later retired from Butler County’s custodial department. She was an avid reader and enjoyed quilting, and she loved all animals.
Belva is survived by one daughter, Jamie L. Heller, of Slippery Rock; one son, Robert P. Kummer of Butler; six grandsons, Adam, Blake (Erin), Stephen, Ethan, Chaz and Derrick; and one great-granddaughter, Addison Nicole. She is also survived by two sisters, Beverly (James) Hilliard and Brenda (Kenneth) Anderson, both of Butler; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Gary; a grandson, Dalton P. Heller; and a granddaughter, Samantha Kummer.
KUMMER — Family and friends of Belva J. Kummer, who died Monday, July 17, 2023, will be received for visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 132 Main St., West Sunbury. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Matthew Kail officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Chestnut Cemetery.
