Miller Minutes

Miller Minutes with Butler Eagle reporter Molly Miller

A lot of my friends are afraid to swim in the ocean. Wandering past where your feet can touch, floating freely in the unknown, is too much of a risk for some people.

Thrill-seeking is not exactly my middle name, but this is something that doesn’t scare me, when maybe it should.

Sometimes, there’s unwanted predators in the water.

Cue the theme from “Jaws.”

Luckily, the waters of Butler County are safe to swim in. You may encounter a fish swimming at Lake Arthur in Moraine State Park, but not the Alameda Pool.

Speaking of which, Alameda Park has planned a movie night at the pool, featuring “Jaws.” Creativity knows no bounds.

So grab your swimsuit and head to Alameda Park’s pool for the Moonlight Swim and Dive-in Movie event Friday, July 14, featuring “Jaws.” The water park will be open from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. Admission is free for members and $5 for nonmembers. Daily admission does not work towards this event.
