Bernard Weakland

Bernard F. Weakland Jr., 78, of Butler, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.

He was born Jan. 4, 1945, in Cambria County, the son of the late Bernard and Lucille Weakland.

He was a member of Slippery Rock Baptist Church. He had worked at Keystone Aluminum for 34 years and had retired from Moraine Point Giant Eagle after 21 years. He loved to fish.

Surviving are his wife, Suzanne (Veiock) Brim Weakland, of Butler; his stepchildren, Nancy (Kenneth) Errington, Sharon Jones, Sandra (Carl) Weiss, Tammy (Al) Whitmire, Robert F. Brim, Debra (Tom) Buttyan, James (Allyson) Brim and Barbara (Robert) Stape; 23 stepgrandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren; his sister, Rochelle Rogers; and his brother, James (Elsie) Weakland.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; and a sister.

WEAKLAND — Friends of Bernard F. Weakland Jr., who died Sunday, July 9, 2023, will be received from 1 p.m. Friday until the time of the service at 2 p.m. at Slippery Rock Baptist Church, 435 Kiester Road, Slippery Rock, with his pastor, Eric Foust, officiating.

Private interment is in Allegheny County Memorial Park, Allison Park.

Arrangements are under the direction of YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Slippery Rock Baptist Church, 435 Kiester Road, Slippery Rock, PA 16057.
