Local student to attend Interlochen Arts Camp

Delaney Ray, 17, of Butler, will attend Interlochen Arts Camp in Michigan, a multidisciplinary summer arts program for aspiring artists in grades three to 12, this summer. She is the daughter of Rachel and Robb Ray and will study musical theater at Interlochen.

Delaney is a rising senior at Butler Area Senior High School, where she has performed on stage in multiple plays and musicals. She is a member of the Sequinette Dance Team and a competitive dancer at the Butler Center for the Performing Arts.

She will be featured this summer in the Summer Dramatics Project’s production of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” as Alana. She will be attending the camp in preparation for musical theater college auditions.

Artistic students ages 8 to 18 from around the world convene at Interlochen to expand their capacity in music, theater, dance, creative writing, visual arts and film. Through daily classes, enriching electives, and frequent performances, Interlochen students explore the full breadth of the arts, pursue creative breakthroughs, and forge lifelong cross-cultural friendships.
