Jacob Kristine

Jacob Kristine, of Buffalo Township, was recently named the winner of the Cardinal Newman Society’s Essay Scholarship Contest, earning a $5,000 scholarship for his essay about the advantages of choosing a faithful Catholic college.

He is the son of Mark and Melissa Kristine of Buffalo Township.

He is enrolled at Christendom College in Front Royal, Va., where he will begin classes as a freshman in the fall. He is the fifth member of his family to attend Christendom College.

Kristine, who was home-schooled, plans to major in either history or political science and economics at college. He also plans to play rugby and basketball.
