The American College of Cardiology has recognized Independence Health System as a recipient of the NCDR Chest Pain MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award for 2023.

This is the seventh time the health system’s Butler Memorial Hospital has been recognized with this award over the past eight years, and the hospital is one of only 262 nationwide to receive the honor, according to Independence Health System.

The award recognizes Independence Health System and Butler Memorial Hospital for implementing a higher standard of care for heart attack patients. It signifies that the hospital has reached an aggressive goal as outlined by the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association clinical guidelines and recommendations.
