A 76-year-old woman was killed in a a car accident Saturday afternoon, May 28, in Armstrong County.

Karen J. Cobbett, of Templeton, was driving her 2003 Ford Ranger east on Madison Road in Madison Township when she lost control of her vehicle, which hit a bank and overturned. Cobbett was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident occurred around 3:35 p.m.

Cobbett was not wearing a seat belt, and according to the Armstrong County Coroner’s Office, “speed is considered a factor.” Toxicology results will not be available for several weeks, and the crash is still investigation by the Coroner’s Office.
