Expert help offered on finding ancestors in Civil War
The Butler County Genealogical Society will host an event to help those interested in discovering their family’s Civil War history.
The webinar “Your Civil War Ancestors: Beginning Your Research” will be shown at 6:15 p.m., Thursday, May 18, at the Butler Area Public Library, 218 N. McKean St.
The webinar will address how to identify Civil War ancestors and what information can be found in Civil War records.
The webinar will be shown in the downstairs meeting room at the library.
No registration is required for the free event.
The genealogical society normally meets on the third Tuesday of each month, but moved to Thursday in May because the meeting room will be used as a polling place.
