With its 3-0 win over Hempfield Thursday, the Seneca Valley softball team secured the first seed in the WPIAL Class 6A playoff bracket. The Raiders and Spartans both have a bye into the semifinals, and Seneca Valley will meet either No. 4 North Allegheny or No. 5 Pine-Richland in that round, which is to be played on May 24.
In Class 4A, Knoch earned the sixth seed and will face off with No. 11 Uniontown at West Mifflin High School Monday. The winner of that game will play No. 3 Chartiers Valley Wednesday.
