Brian Scott “Bubby” Benson, 32, of West Sunbury, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, May 10, 2023.

Born on June 2, 1990, in Butler, Brian was the son of the late John L. “Benny” Benson and the late Colleen (Slater) Benson.

Brian was a member of the North Washington Presbyterian Church, and the North Washington Volunteer Fire Department, where he was on the board and active in the rodeo committee. He was a member of the Double DD Misfits Saddle Club, where he enjoyed many weekend trail rides, especially to Benezette, and was also a member of the Parker City Masons, American Legion Post 243, Chicora Moose, North Butler County Rod & Gun Club, and Lynn’s Archery Club. He liked riding Harleys.

He worked for Slater’s Meats and More, and was also in maintenance for Concord Township.

His greatest joys in life were spending time with his nephews and going on adventures with Charmaine.

Brian is survived by his longtime girlfriend, Charmaine Wulff; his brother, Michael (Danielle) Benson of Waynesburg; his nephews, Parker and Matthew; Uncle Russell Slater of Meridian, Aunt Sandra Benson of Chicora, Uncle Leonard Benson of Worthington, and Uncle James Benson of Chicora; and many cousins.

He is also survived by an endless amount of friends who will remember “Benson” forever.

BENSON — Family and friends of Brian Scott “Bubby” Benson, who died Wednesday, May 10, 2023, will be received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.

Friends may bring a copy of a favorite photo or memory of Bubby/Benson to display on a memory board.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Edmundson of North Washington Presbyterian Church officiating.

Burial will be held in Concord Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the North Washington Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 94, North Washington, PA 16048.
