Seneca Valley’s Haihan Xu finished third with a 1:50.73 time in the 200 individual medley at the PIAA Class 3A Boys Swimming and Diving Championships Friday at Bucknell University. He was also part of the Raiders’ 200 medley relay, which also included Connor Seeley, Logan Hockenberry, and Gavin Blazer, and finished second in the finals.

That relay crew posted a 1:34.39 time, just over a second behind State College Area High School (1:35.68).

Bowling

Butler’s Alex Ekas rolled a 1,209 for six games Friday at the Pa. Boys State Singles Tournament in Erie. He averaged must under 202 for the day and fell 15 pins short of qualifying for the stepladder finals.

The Golden Tornado’s Luke finished 14th in the 24-bowler field with a 1,117 pin total for six games.

The Golden Tornado boys and girls teams will compete in the state team tournament Saturday in Erie.

Boys Volleyball

Mars opened its season with a 3-0 triumph over Hopewell. Scores were 25-23, 25-19, 25-18.
