In answer to Shirley Iman’s letter on March 4 about the GetGo station coming to Franklin Township, she mentions that the township meeting Feb. 20 was standing room only.

She wrote that the majority there were opposed to the new station. I was there also, and the only opponents were the seven people who were neighbors of the intersection. And their main concern was that the signal isn’t at the intersection, not so much the station.

The station will be a good addition for us. This comes as now a blight to the corner, and the new station will be an improvement. This property has been for sale for several years now. If anyone doesn’t want this station, they could have bought the property and controlled it.
