Moniteau girls continue to roll
Four girls notched double-digits for Moniteau as the Warriors downed Cranberry, 69-37, on the road Thursday night. Catherine Kelly led the charge with 13 points, while Kendall Sankey added 12 and Davina Pry and Abbey Jewart 11 each.
Pry also recorded eight boards and Sankey had seven rebounds and six assists in the win, the ninth straight for Moniteau (15-3).

North Catholic 70, Valley 24 — The Trojanettes (16-3, 11-0) remained undefeated in Section 1-4A play in beating the Vikings, who have yet to notch a conference win. Ava Walker led North with 16 points, Sarah Loughry chipped in with 11, and Valley didn’t score more than eight points in any frame.
Knoch 48, Greensburgh Salem 43 — The Knights notched their fourth consecutive triumph and secured a spot in the WPIAL tournament as Naturelle Ewing and Nina Shaw both totaled 15 points. Megan Vasas had 10 and Knoch (13-6, 8-2) battled back after trailing by nine at the halftime break.
The Knights will next be in action against Valley on Monday. They’ll celebrate their seniors — Paige Rodgers, Jessica Burgard, Hattie McGraw, foreign exchange student Alessandra Natali, Shaw, and Vasas.
North Clarion 52, A-C Valley 19 — Mackenzie Parks bucketed 15 points for the Falcons, but her team dropped to 0-19 on the season with this home defeat. A-C Valley faces Cranberry at home on Tuesday.
Redbank Valley 55, Karns City 27 — The Gremlins fell to 11-7 with this defeat in New Bethlehem. Brooklynn Taylor scored 12 points to pace KC.
Boys Basketball
Andrew Maddalon (18 points), Max Hurray (16), and Max Rottmann (10) helped North Catholic to a 66-47 win over Central Valley.
The Trojans (12-6, 8-2) have heated up down the stretch, winning eight of their last nine. They’ll look to continue their run when they host Wheeling Central Catholic Friday night.
Boys Basketball
Colton Thomas, Aydan Jackson and Andrew Zepeda each scored 12 points to spark Moniteau to a 61-43 victory at home over Laurel Wednesday night.
The Warriors (10-7), who have won five of their last six contests, host Cranberry on Friday.

In the boys meet, the Rockets fell to the Eagles, 106-51.
Freeport’s girls claimed a 90-76 victory against Shady Side Academy while the ‘Jacket boys dropped a 90-40 decision.
