Butler bowling sweeps NA
Butler’s boys and girls bowling teams concluded the regular section season Wednesday with 7-0 sweeps of North Allegheny at Family Bowlaway.
The Golden Tornado boys were 10-0 this season and did not lose a single game point in 30 total games. Rocco Rice shot a 708 series Wednesday that included a high game of 246. Alex Ekas added a 697 series and high game of 238. Luke Keene contributed a 630 series and high game of 236.
Butler’s girls finished the regular season with an 8-2 mark. Kelsee McConnell rolled a 597 series with a high game of 214 . Natalie Coughenour had a 210-556 and Makenzie Zimmerman rolled a 206 game.
Both Butler teams will compete in the WPIBL Championships during the third and fourth week of February.
Freeport sweeps St. Joseph’s — The Yellowjacket girls rolled to a 7-0 win as Julia Cummings had a 677 series that included games of 226, 245 and 206. Emma Windows had a 200 game and 553 series.
Freeport’s boys grabbed a 5-2 victory as Colin Cummings had a 683 series that included games of 254, 218 and 211. Anaad Bhal had a 204 game, Dylan Granada a 512 series. Aidan Dehnert led St. Joseph’s with a 629 series and games of 224, 203 and 202.
Boys Basketball
Hobie Bartoe, Taite Beighley and Jacob Callihan all scored 15 points as Karns City defeated North Clarion, 64-55, on the road.
The Gremlins improved to 15-3 on the season and host Redbank Valley on Friday night. Aiden Hartle netted 23 points for North Clarion (2-12).

Moniteau 61, Laurel 43 — Moniteau improved to 8-7 overall this season with this triumph. The Warriors have won three of their last four games.
Laurel dropped to 4-13 with the loss.
Clarion-Limestone 78, Union 60 — Clarion-Limestone improved to 17-1 on the season. The Lions outscored the Golden Knights 23-8 in the first period and had a 49-22 lead by halftime. Alex Painter led four C-L players in double figures, scoring 19 points.
Union slipped to 8-10 with the loss. Payton Johnston scored 19 points for the Golden Knights.
