Cranberry Township police warn of circulating scam calls
Cranberry Township police are alerting the community to a scam call that has been directed at several residents, who said they got a suspicious message from the department’s warrant division.
The voicemail advised the citizens to call a different number about an “urgent matter.” People who called that number said an answering machine asks them to leave their name and contact information, according to a Dec. 8 news release from the Cranberry Township police.
None of the citizens who contacted the police department provided any information to the scammers and the department is unaware of any victims of a crime at this time.
Cranberry Township police said the department will never ask any type of payment or electronic fund transfer to complete the arrest warrant process. Anyone who receives a call of this nature, should contact their local police department, the news release said.
