District court in Evans City found in compliance by Auditor General

Pennsylvania Auditor General Tim LeFoor released a series of audits for district courts across Pennsylvania on Thursday, Nov. 30. Among the audited courts was district court 50-3-06 in Butler County, located in Evans City.

The audit concluded that court 50-3-06 was in compliance with state laws in regards to the collection of funds, as well as the reporting and remitting of the collection of funds.

The audit covers the period of Jan. 1, 2019 through Dec. 31, 2022. In all, the court reported collecting $928,184 in fines, costs, fees and surcharges during that time, which were remitted to the state Department of Revenue.

“The district court, in all significant respects, complied with state laws and regulations applicable to the collection of moneys on behalf of the commonwealth, including whether they have been correctly assessed, reported, and promptly remitted,“ wrote DeFoor.
