A Butler County man was sentenced Thursday, Sept. 21, to house arrest and probation after pleading guilty to charges of threatening and retaliating against a neighbor living across the street.

Jerome Mulligan, 41, of Seven Fields, was sentenced to serve nine months of house arrest followed by 60 months of probation after he pleaded guilty to a felony charge of retaliation against a witness or victim and a misdemeanor charge of terroristic threats filed by Evans City-Seven Fields Regional Police following incidents on May 8 and May 22, 2022.

Butler County Common Pleas Court Judge Kelley Streib also ordered Mulligan not to contact the victim, a family that lives across the street.

Tyler Rupert told the court that Mulligan threatened to kill his wife and 1-year-old son by running them over. He said Mulligan threatened his family five times.

He said Mulligan made threatening statements such as: “One call, and you’re dead, your family is dead.”

He said Mulligan carried a weapon in front of his house and once sat on the hood of his car and stared at his home from across the street.

Rupert said he gave police 50 media files from his security cameras containing images of Mulligan.

Rupert’s father said police have made numerous trips to his son’s home and the incidents have cause significant stress for the family.
