Butler bowlers sweep rival Tigers
Butler’s boys put together four different 600 series Wednesday and the Golden Tornado bowling teams went on to sweep North Allegheny, 7-0.
Eric DeVore paced the Golden Tornado boys with a 242 game and 671 series. Luke Keene added a 225-647, Zach Kniess a 644 series and Alex Ekas a 631. Butler’s boys are 5-0 on the season.
Kelsee McConnell led the Butler girls (4-1) with a 224 game and 587 series, Natalie Coughenour had a 539 series and Makenzie Zimmerman rolled a 232 game.
Butler hosts Seneca Valley Jan. 4 at Family Bowlaway.
Freeport sweeps St. Joseph’s — The Yellowjacket girls won by a 7-0 count as Mackenzie Livingston rolled 226 and 214 games to go with a 611 series. Julia Cummings had a 260-602. Kylie McConahy rolled a 236 game, Emma Windows games of 195 and 194.
Freeport’s boys scored a 5-2 win as Dylan Granata rolled games of 228 and 204 as part of a 625 series. Colin Cummiongs had games of 203, 203 and 199 for a 605.
Boys Basketball
Brady Sullivan scored 12 points and Gavin Glista nine as Freeport edged Burrell, 48-47. The game was tight throughout.
Tucker Bitar and Macky Bennis scored 16 points each for Burrell.
Summit Academy 65, Propel Montour 40 — Elijah Adams paced the Knights (2-1) with 22 points. Shakeem Smith and Kiron Davis scored 10 points each. The Knights play in the Apollo-Ridge Christmas Tournament next week.
