Knoch falls to CV at home

Teegan Finucan scored 22 points for Knoch, but the Knights had their two-game win streak snapped by a 76-49 home boys basketball loss to undefeated Chartiers Valley.

Jackson Bauman added 12 points for Knoch (2-6), which returns to play at 6 p.m. Dec. 28 against Avonworth in the Deer Lakes Christmas Tournament.

Jaden Davis led three Chartiers Valley (6-0) players in double figures with 25 points. The Colts outscored Knoch by 17 in the fourth quarter.

Hockey

Owen Denny and Carter Blystone scored for Butler, but the Golden Tornado dropped a 7-2 decision to Meadville on Senior Night. Benjamin Mikan and Carson Bish assisted on the tallies.

Butler honored seven seniors before the game: Brayden Povlick, Rocco Pellegrino, Brody Simko, Nathan Holland, Parker Worsley, Brady Bauer and Adam Deal. The Tornado travel to Franklin Regional for a 6 p.m. Jan. 2 in Delmont.
