GROVE CITY — Jack Ogoreuc, son of former Slippery Rock University swim coach Bob Ogoreuc, recently placed second in the Intermediate Junior Division of the NRA’s National Junior Section Championships.

He earned the silver medal for Indoor Metric Position (3 Position) Smallbore with a score of 566. Ogoreuc’s four-person team won the Junior Division and placed third in the Indoor Conventional (4 Position) Smallbore Championships.

Athetes shot scores throughout the year at sectional matches and scores are combined to determine the national championship.

A sophomore at Grove City High School, Ogoreuc won the Pennsylvania Outdoor 50 meter 3 Position Smallbore Championships this fall.

Brown wins pair in harness racing

WASHINGTON, Pa. — Slippery Rock resident Brady Brown drove Uptown Callie to victory Against 8-1 odds during harness racing action Tuesday at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.

Uptown Callie won a $12,000 Filly & Mare Claiming Pace.

Brown also won with Eyespywithmylileyen in an $8,700 Conditioned Pace.
