Gremlins squash Berries

Senior forward Emma Dailey pinned up 16 points and Chloe Fritch added three treys as the Karns City girls basketball team dispatched Cranberry, 51-21, Thursday night.

The Gremlins led by 15 at the halftime break.

Mars 48, Franklin Regional 45 — Olivia Donnelly had 17 points and Vita Vargo added another 14 as the visiting Planets (3-1) beat the Panthers thanks to a 15-12 advantage in the final quarter.

Hockey

Butler 7, Mars 3 — The Golden Tornado got out to a two-goal advantage against the Planets Monday, with Owen Denny netting the opener. Denny finished with two goals and an assist, while Parker Worsley scored a hat trick. Freshman Jase Renwick notched his first varsity goal, and Andrew Roskovski rounded out the goal-scorers on the night.

Brady Bauer registered two assists, while Jack Johnson, Kian Fries, and Jaxon Salata all coming away with one. EJ Delaney stopped 27 of 30 shots in the net. Butler next plays on Tuesady against Thomas Jefferson at Ice Castle. First face-off is set for 7 p.m.
