Despite having three players pour in at least 10 points, the Freeport girls basketball team fell just short in a 47-46 loss to Shady Side Academy Monday night. The Yellowjackets led by six at the start of the final frame, but a 19-point effort by the Bulldogs in the fourth helped them outlast the hosts.

Melaina Dezort bucketed 16 points in the victory, while Morgan Croney added 11 and Ava Soilis 10.

Elk County Cathlic 52, Union 18 — The Crusaders were up by 20 by the halftime break in this one. Hailey Theuret poured in 14 of the Damsels’ 18 points.
