Grove City College had a total of $1.96 million raised during its pre-Thanksgiving fundraising marathon called “The Wolverine Challenge.”

The initiative has been running eight years.

The Paul G. Benedum Jr. Foundation offered a $20,000 match for all donations to Grove City College scholarships, and sorority and fraternity alumni made up 45 percent of all giving.

GCC is one of a handful of colleges that does not accept any federal funding, including student grants and loans.
