There will be an intergenerational holiday party from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, in the parking lot outside The Waters of Wexford senior living community, 210 Fowler Road, Warrendale.

A firetruck carrying Santa, Mrs. Claus and several of their elves will pull up to the community at 5 p.m. They will hand out candy canes to children, their parents and grandparents, and they will pose for photos.

Holiday music will play, and the entranceway and front lobby of the senior living community will be decked for the holidays. There will be a table set up near the front entrance with hot chocolate and cookies for guests.

Perhaps the real draw will be the special mailbox set up where kids can leave their letters to Santa. The elves who live and work at the senior community will make sure that every one of them gets answered.
