Be mindful of school buses

National school bus safety week is over again. Where and how did some drivers get their drivers’ licenses?

I have two bus stops on Route 19 at 6:36 a.m. — one at Pizza Joe’s and one at Bloomfield Road. At least three mornings out of five, traffic goes through my red lights. I am going north and traffic is going south. It is dark at 6:36 a.m.

I have called the Butler state police and asked if they could have a car there to watch and help, and I was told at that time they are busy and there’s a shift change. I have to get a license plate number — how, in the dark?

On Slippery Rock Road, at 2:30 p.m., I had a car go through my red lights. I held my student back. Slippery Rock Road is a state road — SR 4008. Again (I was told to) get a plate number.

I hope there are no accidents or injuries.
