Freeport golf moves to 12-1
Cam Zigo and Nate Covey shot under 40 as the Freeport boys golf team beat Valley, 203-266, on the front nine of Buffalo Golf Course. Zigo led all golfers with a 38, while Zigo carded a 39.
The Yellowjackets improved to 12-1 (10-0 in section).

Girls Volleyball
Anora Robare had 28 assists for Slippery Rock in a 3-1 win over Reynolds Tuesday night.Match scores were 29-31, 25-17, 27-25, 25-22. Virginia Recchia had 45 digs and 12 assists. Molly Bissel led Slippery Rock with 17 kills while Avalee Demidovich had 14.
Wilmington 3, Karns City 0 — The Gremlins were swept by scores of 25-22, 25-19, and 25-21. Rosalie Carden had four aces, three kills, and eight assists; Ava Fox turned in eight kills, a block, and two digs.
Girls Soccer
Crystal Zembrzuski, Payton Los and Nora Mahan scored goals as Freeport shut out Valley, 3-0.
Olivia Giancola was the goalkeeper who recorded the shutout.
Avonworth 8, Slippery Rock 0 — Babusci scored four goals and Syam added three for Avonworth. The Rockets return to action Monday in a varsity-only game with Wilmington at 7:30 p.m.
Girls Tennis
Butler’s No. 1 and No. 2 singles players, Jillian Clark and Ali Smith, both lost to Moon in the first round of the WPIAL section singles tournament. The Golden Tornado return to action Monday at North Allegheny.
