Earth is cleaner now

I am writing in rebuttal to Bruce Cooper’s letter on climate change. I am old enough to remember hundreds of factory smoke stacks belching pollutants into the sky. Most homes had coal chutes for coal to be unloaded into coal bins in cellars for coal furnaces. Automobiles had no catalytic converters on them. There were no pollution controls then.

Today, we have fewer factories and far less coal furnaces. What we do have is the EPA strictly enforcing clean air laws.

This earth has been changing for trillions of years. I won’t say we are not going through a climate change, but put the blame where it belongs. Mother Nature, not power plants burning coal for our electricity. Renewable energy is nice, but science hasn’t perfected it enough yet.
