‘A League of Their Own’ stadium remains in Pittsburgh

The Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) became the set of Amazon Prime’s series “A League of Their Own,” and the baseball stadium they left behind still stands.

The show premieres Aug. 22 on the streaming website and was primarily filmed in Western Pennsylvania, according to an article by a Pittsburgh newspaper.

The former Boyce Field was chosen by location manager Eric Dilucente in spring of 2021 as the primary filming base. At the time, only two dugouts and some wooden bleachers stood on the property.

Though the studio-constructed stadium depicted the career of a 1940s All-American women’s baseball team for months, it’s now used by the CCAC baseball team.

According to Dilucente, several Western Pennsylvania baseball fields were considered for the series, including Butler’s Pullman Park.
