Beaver Falls man accused of assaulting Butler woman
An arrest warrant has been issued for a Beaver Falls man charged with burglary and assault, allegedly involving a knife and a local woman.
Butler City police filed charges Monday against Dan C. Schroth, 40, including felony counts of aggravated assault and burglary as well as misdemeanor terroristic threats for an incident early Sunday at his former girlfriend’s Butler home.
According to charging documents, the woman told police Schroth arrived unannounced and uninvited around 8 a.m.
The woman told police she and Schroth had not been “together” for several years, and Schroth never lived in this house.
The woman told police she opened the door thinking it was a family member, and instead, Schroth forced his way into the home. She told police she and Schroth argued for two hours.
Police said Schroth threatened the life of the woman and her dog multiple times.
“(The woman) stated that Schroth pulled a fixed-blade knife from his person and threw it at (her),” police said. “The knife hit against a painting approximately a foot from where (she) was seated.”
Police said Schroth went to the bathroom, and the woman seized the opportunity to retrieve a gun from her bedroom and “compelled” him to leave her house.
Once arrested Schroth, will be arraigned, issued bail and be scheduled for a preliminary hearing before District Judge William Fullerton.
