Two fundraisers by Sprankle’s Neighborhood Markets have raised a total of $26,000 for two worthy causes, one local and one overseas.

Sprankle’s third annual Campout for Community, a livestream event held April 8 at the Leechburg store, invited community and civic leaders in Butler and Armstrong counties to come sit around a mock campfire and promote their businesses, events or causes while raising money for their local Salvation Army units.

During Campout for Community, Salvation Army bell ringers collected money in the organization’s signature red kettles at the Sprankle’s stores, and 10% of sales for the day at all three stores was donated to the stores’ local Salvation Army units.

This year, Sprankle’s partner, PA Skill Games, offered to match the amounts raised at the markets.

The 2022 Campout for Community resulted in a $10,000 donation from Sprankle’s, and another $10,000 in matching funds from PA Skill Games for a total of $20,000 donated to the Salvation Army.

Another fundraiser saw Sprankle’s, with the help of the 700 Shop in Kittanning, create a T-shirt to sell at each location to raise funds for the Red Cross Ukrainian Humanitarian Aid Fund.

Sprankle’s raised $4,000 across all three locations to donate for humanitarian relief in Ukraine.

The 700 Shop in Kittanning also pitched in another $2,000.
