Disney vs. Florida
Regarding the April 27, 2022, editorial: “Disney World Versus Florida”
Quote from the editorial: “With apparently very little else to concern himself with, Gov. Ron DeSantis has busied himself by saving kids from math books and taking on the happiest place on Earth for political gain.” You also refer to the Florida legislation with the progressive’s label “Don’t Say Gay.”
The Butler Eagle could better serve the readers by printing the exact Florida legislation that addresses sex education being taught to K-3 students. Most of us, as parents, do not wish to have our K-3 children worrying about their sexual orientation at that age.
Some questions to RV:
1. How do you come up with “saving kids from math books” from the actual legislation?“
2. Why do the opponents to this Florida legislation misrepresent the intent of this legislation and call it the “Don’t Say Gay Legislation?”
3. Why did Disney choose to get involved in this issue in the first place?
