Slippery Rock High School’s boys track team won the Hermitage Invitational Saturday, scoring 108.25 points to runner-up Grove City’s 106.

Seaton Wozniak won the discus, tying the school record of 151 feet, 3 inches, set by Larry Galcik. Wozniak also won the shot put and Ethan Folmer the triple jump.

Slippery Rock’s girls placed fourth out of 18 teams with 57 points.

Baseball

Mars made quick work of Penn Hills Tuesday, notching a 17-0 victory in three innings. Nate Leshinsky went 2-for-2 for the Planets, clubbing a double and driving in four runs. Ty Garver and Shane Klinefelter both had a pair of hits and three RBIs. Klinefelter had two triples.

On the mound, Matt Mroz went all three frames, allowing one knock and ringing up four.

The Planets play Hampton for the section title in their final league series.

Softball

Mackenzie Parks homered and drove in five runs as Allegheny-Clarion Valley defeated Redbank Valley, 13-3 in five innings.

Avah Burke added a single, double, two runs scored and two batted in for the Falcons (4-6).

Cam Ray had 19 assists, but Butler dropped a 3-0 decision to North Allegheny at home. Scores were 25-14, 25-13, 25-20.

Coleton Welter had seven kills and seven digs for the Golden Tornado (7-7, 5-5) while Max Gianneski had seven kills. Tyler Figlioli had seven passes.

Butler plays at Mars on Thursday.
