Woman, infant son threatened in 1 case

A Mars resident was sentenced to serve 30 to 60 months in state prison after pleading guilty to charges in four cases dating to 2018.

Aaron Troy Moyers, 44, was ordered to consecutively serve five 6-to-12-month terms in prison by Butler Common Pleas Court Judge Timothy McCune on Thursday.

In one case, Moyers pleaded guilty to charges of terroristic threats and possession of drug paraphernalia that were filed by Butler city police in May 2020. Police said he doused a woman and her infant son with moonshine and threatened to light them on fire at their apartment on Wick Street.

He was sentenced to two consecutive 6-to-12-month prison terms after pleading guilty to charges of dissemination of obscene material and corruption of minors that were filed by state police in October 2018.

In another case, Moyers pleaded guilty to a charge of simple assault filed by Butler Township police in January 2020. Police said he punched a woman in a vehicle while she was driving with him as a passenger on Route 8.

Moyers pleaded guilty to another charge of simple assault filed by Butler Township police in March 2020. Police said he assaulted his wife during a dispute in their apartment in Old Plank Estates.
