Follow that car; two arrested in connection with McKeesport robbery

Cranberry Township Police arrested two people they found associated with a vehicle allegedly used in a armed robbery in McKeesport on Thursday.

Police filed charges Friday against DePaul A. Suzensky, 38, of Pittsburgh, and Danielle I. Agrate, 39, of Cranberry Township, both with slightly different lists of alleged offenses.

Suzensky is charged with felony illegal possession of a gun and misdemeanor counts of drug possession, marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia possession. Agrate is charged with felony unlicensed carrying of a gun and misdemeanor counts of tampering with evidence, drug possession and drug paraphernalia possession.

Both were arraigned Friday before District Judge Kevin Flaherty, who placed bond at $50,000 for each of them. As of Sunday afternoon, neither had posted bond.

According to charging documents, Cranberry Township Police were asked by McKeesport Police to monitor the streets for Suzensky’s vehicle, a black Volkswagen sedan with tinted windows.

Police said Suzensky’s vehicle was seen leaving the scene of a robbery earlier in the day at a McKeesport apartment.

“It was learned during the home invasion investigation, two black males entered the residence with firearms pointing at the victim and her three children,” said the investigating officer in the affidavit.

Police said a third man entered later, and one of the men pistol-whipped the woman, causing a cut to her head. Three cellphones and a .40-caliber pistol were reported stolen from the woman’s purse.

Police said the woman had security cameras on the exterior of the apartment, and it captured the men arriving and fleeing in Suzensky’s vehicle. Police tracked the vehicle using traffic cameras until it reached Cranberry Township.

Cranberry Township Police were alerted to be on the lookout for the vehicle, and it was located at Agrate’s home on Cranberry Pointe Lane at 10:05 a.m.

Police said they monitored the home, and at 1:17 p.m. they saw Suzensky exit the home and enter the passenger side of the vehicle and return inside. Police said at 2:56 p.m., Suzensky drove off in the car, and officers conducted a traffic stop.

“Suzensky was detained without incident, and a purple Trufflez Ziploc bag containing marijuana was located in his front, right jeans pocket,” police said.

Police said officers continued monitoring the home, and at 3:45 p.m. Agrate was dropped off at the home, and went inside.

“At approximately 4 p.m., Agrate, while still speaking on her cellphone, was observed exiting the front of the residence with a large item underneath her left arm, concealed underneath a jacket,” police said.

Police said Agrate placed a Ziploc bag into the ceiling of a collapsed pop-up tent near the back door of the home. Police said Agrate then went for a walk around the neighborhood, at which point they arrested her.

Police then requested and were granted a search warrant for the property.

During the search of the residence, a Glock 26 was located in the plastic bag inside the tent where Agrate was observed placing the bag, police said.

Police said they also found crack cocaine, powder cocaine and meth inside, and they found drug paraphernalia, including digital scales, in the master bedroom.

The pair are scheduled to appear April 22 for a preliminary hearing before Flaherty.
