Benson 100th birthday
Janis Benson of Concordia at the Orchard, 104 Concordia Way, will mark her 100th birthday April 5.
The former Janis Dreher was born April 5, 1922, in Butler. She married Joe Benson on June 27, 1946, in Butler, two weeks after he returned from World War II.
Janis retired after 46 years as a legal secretary with Reiber & Reiber and Willis McDonald, Attorneys at Law.
She was a 1942 graduate of Butler Business College.
Janis was a member of the Armco Golf Club, the Esquire Club, the Century Club and several card clubs. Janis enjoyed playing bridge.
She and her husband enjoyed vacationing at their cottage in Conneaut, Ohio, with family and friends.
She loved traveling, golfing, dinner dances, playing bridge and knitting.
Janis is a lifelong member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Butler.
Her strong faith, kind-heartedness and genuine love of family and friends has been a beautiful inspiration to everyone in her life.
