Mich. woman charged with ID theft

Police: She used La. woman’s ID at Cranberry Township store

A Detroit woman was arrested and placed in jail Saturday after she returned to a store where she had already used a Louisiana woman’s stolen identity, according to police.

Cranberry Township Police arrested Kierra N. Trimble, 24, and charged her with felony counts of forgery, identity theft, theft and possessing stolen property related to “purchases” made at the AT&T Store in Cranberry Township.

Arraigned Saturday night by District Judge Sue Haggerty, Trimble was placed in Butler County Prison on $10,000 bond.

According to charging documents, Trimble went to the AT&T Store on Route 19 on Friday and bought two iPhones and one iPad, using a Louisiana woman’s driver’s license.

“All items were charged to (the Louisiana woman’s) account in the amount of $3,399.97,” the investigating officer wrote in the affidavit.

Employees told police the Louisiana woman reported the fraud on Saturday, and the account was flagged.

“On (Saturday) Trimble arrived at the store and asked to be assisted by the same employee from (Friday) to purchase additional devices,” police said.

Police were called, and Trimble was arrested. Police said during a search of Trimble, they also found the Louisiana woman’s license.

Trimble is scheduled to appear March 25 for a preliminary hearing before District Judge Kevin Flaherty.
