Mohney nears mark
Landon Mohney scored five goals Monday night — pulling within one of Butler's career scoring record — in the Golden Tornado's 6-1 win over Shaler.
Mohney has scored 13 goals in his last three games and has 28 tallies on the season. His father, Butler coach Troy Mohney, holds the program's career goal mark of 62.
Aiden Soley added a goal for Butler Monday and Carson Knight had two assists. Gavin Varner, Andrew Lucas, Evan Lubinsky and Isaac Boring also assisted on goals.
Butler hosts Seneca Valley Wednesday night.
Hampton 7, Knoch 1 — The Knights slipped to 5-6-1 in section play, 6-7-2 overall with this loss. Knoch plays at Indiana Wednesday.
Slippery 1, Hiockory 0 — David Magliocca scored the lone goal of the night for the Rockets (9-3-2), assisted by Logan Arblaster.
Connor Wallace had five saves in getting the shutout. Slippery Rock hosts Conneaut (Pa.) at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
