FOXBURG — There was not much Sheffield could do to stop Union/AC valley from running up the score.

The evening was sobered by injuries resulting in ambulance rides for two Sheffield players.

The Wolverines were trounced in a 77-0 non-conference victory by Union/AC Valley.

A Sheffield assistant coach referred to his players injuries: “Obviously there was some controversy as to some of the hits, some of the injuries. I'm not going to comment on it. As far as I know, from what I saw before the kids left was encouraging.”

“I'm not gonna lie, our team, we're young. We have some things to work on. It's on the coaching staff. These are our kids and I wouldn't want any other group. We got some things to work on next week and we'll be ready for next Saturday,” the coach said.

With five Falcon Knight touchdowns in the first quarter, the game was sealed from the beginning. Dawson Camper scored three of the five touchdowns.

Leading 34-0 in the first quarter, Union/AC Valley regained some confidence from last week after dropping a 28-20 decision at Brockway.

“Felt good tonight with limited numbers and everything that's been going on,” Union/A-C Valley coach Brad Dittman said. “We asked them to play hard. We still have stuff on film to work out, but we feel better after the win, after last week's loss.”

Forcing a safety in the second quarter and scoring three touchdowns, Union/AC Valley did not let up on Sheffield.

The third and fourth quarters saw one and two, touchdowns scored, respectively.

When asked about the injuries to their opponents Dittman said, “You never want to see people hurt. We're happy everything is all right and pray for a quick recovery.”
