Moniteau's season ends

It was a disappointing way to end the season for the Moniteau baseball team.

The Warriors committed four errors and issued nine walks in a 10-0 loss to Johnsonburg in five innings Thursday in the District 9 Class 2A semifinals.

Johnsonburg only managed five hits.

Mason Mershimer doubled and Tanner Williams and Dawson Wallace each singled for Moniteau (16-7) in the loss.

Johnsonburg remained undefeated at 20-0 and will play Kane Monday in DuBois for the district championship.

North Catholic fell behind 7-2 at the half and never recovered in an 11-5 loss to South Fayette in the WPIAL 2A consolation game at Robert Morris University.The loss eliminates the Trojans and sends South Fayette to the state playoffs, which begin Tuesday.
