Cases of COVID-19 continue to decline

The number of new COVID-19 cases continues to decrease in the county and across the state.

On Tuesday, 10 new cases were reported in the county and 1,730 new cases were reported statewide, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health. The new cases raise the county total to 11,004 and the state total to 1,188,845. About 28,370 of the cases in the state are among health care workers.

In licensed nursing and personal care homes, 71,472 residents and 15,150 employees have COVID-19. Of the deaths in the state, 13,219 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities.

No new deaths were reported in the county, but 38 new deaths statewide raise the total to 26,871.

There are 1,436 people hospitalized, including 342 in intensive care. The 14-day average number of people hospitalized per day is decreasing after peaking at 2,661 patients.

The department also reported 4,242,190 people are fully vaccinated and 1,653,191 people are partially vaccinated,

A total of 9,785,235 doses have been administered, including 5,895,381 first and single doses and 3,889,854 second doses.

In the county, 76,120 people are fully vaccinated and 15,092 people are partially vaccinated.
