Tickets remaining for cemetery walk
The 11 a.m. tour for the Butler Historical Society’s May 22 “Echoes From Our Past” cemetery walk at North Side Cemetery is nearly sold out. There are 30 tickets left for the 2:30 p.m. tour.
Walkers should come 15 minutes beforehand to park to check in.
Walk the cemetery grounds and watch costumed actors interpret individuals from Butler’s past. Characters this year include:
Charles Albert Waters, the only Black soldier in the National Guard of Pa. 15th Regiment during the Spanish American War, and Harriet Cooper, who was much loved and admired for her charitable work and dedication to the Sunday School Movement and WTCU activities.
Tickets are available through www.butlerhistory.com or at 724-283-8116. The Historical Society will offer gift shop items and books for sale, including “Butler County’s Nine-Month Men” and “Rage, Murder and Execution” signed by author Bradley Pflugh.
