Warrant out in alleged slashing
An arrest warrant has been issued for a Butler man who allegedly slashed at another man with a box cutter last week in a city alley.
Danielle C. Frazier, 39, has been charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment stemming from the incident. “Officers recovered video footage of the incident,” Butler Police Chief Bob O'Neill said Monday. “It shows Frazier assaulting the victim by slicing his arm and face several times with a sharp-edged weapon.”According to charging documents, police were called around 8:22 p.m. to Butler Memorial Hospital, where the victim was being treated.About 20 minutes before he spoke with police, the injured man had accompanied a friend in meeting Frazier in an “exchanging property,” the documents said.According to police, the man then asked to have a “man-to-man” conversation with Frazier, with whom he had been familiar from other exchanges.Police said the private chat led the pair to the alley where the assault occurred, near the intersection with East Birch and South Main streets.“I did view there to be blood on the ground in this area consistent with (the victim's) statement,” said the investigating officer in the affidavit.According to documents, the injured man told police Frazier threw the first punch, which he blocked, but the second blow contained the knife, which slashed him down his face from just above his eyebrow to his right jaw.Police said the victim also had lacerations to his left arm and to his back, but he could not pinpoint when they happened.According to Monday's news release, Frazier is known to frequent the Pittsburgh area as well as Butler, and anyone with information about his whereabouts should contact Butler City Police.
